A popular style of cooker, but so many variants
Arguably the appliance around which the kitchen was built, cookers can be very simple or quite sophisticated. Essentially the free standing is simply a cooker which can stand alone and requires no housing or frame to support it. You can have gas or electric and sometimes both, where an electric oven is combined with gas rings on top.
