General information about registration.

  • Registration at this website is FREE of CHARGE and without any ongoing financial commitment.

  • The FKBD community is for people working within the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom industry (in retail, installation, supply or manufacturing) or within closely allied business involved with interior design or home improvements, or people retired from such business.
  • People working as KBB journalists, researchers or influencers are also welcome to register.
  • Once registered you may use the Federation web site and other Federation publications as a platform for the exchange of non competitive information, and a means to exchange opinions and experiences with a view to strengthening the KBB industry in general, and promote a high standard of service to the general public.
  • You may also post images and details of your own work and designs to the publicly viewable blog platform.
  • The FKBD administrators shall have full discretion whether to confirm or reject any registration.
  • Initially you register as an Associate, Membership status is awarded on merit.  Associates must not represent themselves as Members until they have satisfied the requirements.
  • While the FKBD do not charge any fee for registration, any voluntary donations are welcomed to assist with the day to day running costs of our organisation.

Terms and Conditions of Registration

Your access to and interaction with this Website and Member Portal is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all Website visitors, Associates and Members, and others who access or use the Website and Member Portal.

Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.  If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. 

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Right of Access

The FKBD reserves the right to update or modify this website from time to time, and further reserves all rights to deny or restrict access to this website to any particular person, or to block access from a particular Internet address to this website, at any time, without ascribing any reasons whatsoever. You agree that you will not: use any robot, spider, other automatic device, or manual process to monitor or copy any pages within this website or the Contents without FKBD’s prior written permission; use any device, software or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of this website; and take any action that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on FKBD’s servers.

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises out of or in connection with the terms and conditions of use, the parties shall undertake in good faith to use all reasonable endevours to settle the dispute by negotiation. Should this fail, any such dispute shall be finally settled by the courts of Britain.

 FKBD membership terms and conditions.

General

  • An application for any class membership of the FKBD is deemed to indicate the applicant’s acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  • All members of the Federation must comply with and support the ideals of the FKBD and maintain a high level of integrity and professionalism in their business activities, in their dealings with one another and as such agree to be bound by the FKBD Code of Practice.
  • Wherever possible communications between members and the FKBD should be made by e-mail or other appropriate electronic means in order to comply with the Federation's Green Ethos and minimise emissions and use of resources.
  • All members may use the Federation web site and other Federation publications as a platform for the exchange of non competitive information between themselves, and a means whereby they can exchange opinions and experiences with a view to strengthening the KBB industry in general, and promote a high standard of service to the general public. 
  • There are sections of the FKBD web site and other Federation publications where a charge may be levied if members wish to reproduce their own material or advertisements.
  • Any member's material, posts or advertisements may be subjected to moderation and inclusion or publication shall be at the sole discretion of the FKBD administrators, whether or not the material or advertisement attracts a charge.

Members

  • An initial subscription is charged upon application for Membership. This is a one off payment charged to help towards the costs of setting up a new membership, and will not be charged again at subsequent renewals unless there has been a lapse in membership for a period of not less than 18 months.
  • Voluntary donations are welcomed to assist with the day to day running costs of our organisation.
  • There are no regular membership fees charged.
  • Membership is awarded on merit and references will be required to support any applications.

Associates

  • Associates can be individuals who work within, have a connection to or have an interest in the kitchen bedroom and bathroom industry, including individuals involved in the production or design of any KBB furniture, fittings and accessories, individuals involved in sales, design or specification of kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms either commercial or domestic, and individuals involved in the installation or installation management of kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms either commercial or domestic.
  • Associates may also be  individuals on the periphery of the KBB business, or retired from any branches of the KBB business or it's associated trades.
  • The FKBD administrators will consider all applications and shall have full discretion whether to admit or refuse to admit an Associate.
