The brief was to create a modern and sleek kitchen to complement the open-plan living space and our clients’ collection of modern and abstract design pieces including a bespoke ceiling pendant light and locally commissioned modern dining table. Storage was also central to this design as our clients didn’t want lots of wall cupboards but still required plenty of cupboard space to store every day kitchen and living items.

To meet the modern and sleek design brief, we helped our client to choose Mayfair cabinetry finished in Bronze. The dark palette of this cabinetry creates a real statement kitchen, and its textured appearance is brought to life beautifully by the light streaming through the kitchen roof lights.

We incorporated an oversized island into the design, which houses two dishwashers that can be used on rotation, as well as plenty of deep drawer units on the opposite side to meet the client’s brief for lots of storage without using wall units. The island is topped with the client’s own choice of worktop which is lit around the edges to give and almost ‘floating’ appearance.

Within the main run of wall units, we have also included a day pantry which houses a microwave, as well as spice racks and plenty of space for store cupboard essentials.

The use of Mayfair in Bronze in this modern kitchen has created a striking and standout space that is both sleek and cool yet warm and homely in equal measure.
