The compact alternative to split level cookers

The concept of the under oven is to provide a streamlined look where worktop can be continuous rather than interrupted by a conventional free standing cooker in kitchens where there is not enough space for a split level oven and hob. Most under ovens require a housing unit for installation and this allows the kitchen plinth (toe board) to be fitted in a continuous length below providing that built in look.

 Although a single cavity format is the most widely seen, the under oven can also be a two cavity design, as in the picture above.  Because the overall height of the oven is limited to allow fitting below worktop level, the single cavity will generally provide a bigger oven capacity, but weight this against the advantage of a separate grill in the two cavity style.
