The finish is often mistaken for polished concrete, I guess it basically is a thin concrete layer although the addition of the polymers strengthen the surface and when a sealer is applied the microcement provides a waterproof and bacteria resistant finish.

Application
The first stage involves the surface being primed over a fiberglass mesh which offers stability. The base microcement coat comes next than a further primer and a final top microcement coat. Finally the whole surface is sealed with a high grade sealant. When fully cured the result is a seamless finish which will provide a strong wear resistant and easy to maintain surface for walls or floor.
The base for application of course needs to be flat but can be of almost any material.
Waterproof
When properly sealed the microcement surface if waterproof and also bug and bacteria resistant so it provides a great finish for any wet area like the shower or bath surround, as well as food preparation surfaces
