Trends incoming for 2025, what directions can we expect for bathroom design?

Bathroom design continues to evolve in so many interesting directions as new products emerge and existing products develop.  In the approaching new year we can expect to see many of last years trends continue but there is likely to be a return to some of the some of the styles and finishes of some 50 years ago.  I don’t mean a literal return, more a nod back to the days when home décor in general offered a sense of warmth and individual character rather than minimal lines.

There will always be a demand and a place for the clean simple lines we have seen for some time now, but there seems to be a rising interest in more traditional styles of furniture.

Accents and features are going to be hot, big colours for some individual items and feature wall panels or even full feature walls,  Vanity units in bold green, blue and red shades make a great statement piece, but wood is coming back on trend, especial the  rich, warm shades of darker woods.

Fluted finishes on furniture, while not new, should continue to rise in popularity and the similar slat wall finishes are now available in waterproof materials and ideal for the creation of a feature wall.

Sustainability and eco friendly materials and products will be high in many priority lists, so we can expect manufacturers to be using more reclaimed and recycled materials as well as concentrating on low flow technology for taps and shower fittings.  From the consumer’s perspective sustainable and eco friendly products not only help with individual environmental concerns, but also can save them money on energy bills.  The importance of environmental concerns is expected to influence product choices for some tome to come.

The ambiance and decor of a spa is a popular theme for current bathroom design and this is well catered for in the available choices for furniture, wall and floor finishes and lighting.  The emergence of more natural timber finishes  continues, helping top bring that spa feel into reality in your bathroom.

Natural colours for wall and floor materials are on the rise and combined with a bold feature panel or wall your bathroom can provide the spa tranquility but maintain impact with a splash of colour.

A revival of interest in whirlpool baths seems likely for this year and where space and budgets permit, the steam room and sauna are great additions for that home spa.

Smart home technology has been rising in popularity and more smart bathroom products are arriving offering connectivity to apps and virtual assistant devices.  Interest in bidet toilets is still growing with more manufacturers now offering models, some actually reaching a point of affordability, and we expect the trend towards these to continue.
